Welcome back . It's been a long and , in some ways, a frightening winter. I had trouble concentrating on my writing, and have finally started my next book. This book is about most of my familiar characters from the past plus a few who have moved to town and are  living in Fairhaven, Maine, which is located on the coast of Maine between the City of Portland and the beautiful waters of Casco Bay. If you have never been to the State of Maine, it's worth the trip. One of those new characters is Police officer Lisa Sanders, the first female officer to join the force. She is featured in my last book,  HOLD YOUR FEAR CLOSE.

If you haven't yet read this book, you should. I guarantee you will love it.

Stay in touch through my blog, "Susan Davis Cummings Writes Mysteries."

Right now I'm sitting in my living room where I sometimes write my books. It's a beautiful Sunday morning and my window overlooks the neighborhood golf course.I don't play golf, but I enjoy the view. Today's view is almost perfect. The one thing spoiling it is the drape I need for privacy. If I get up and open the drape, then my view is perfect. But usually I'm too lazy to get up from my chair. The Florida birds love the golf courses and I love watching the Florida birds, especially the cranes. Sometimes they are flying overhead. Other times they line up and do a special Crane dance to entice their mates. I love all of it.

THANK YOU FOR BUYING AND READINNG MY BOOKS!

I welcome comments and advice. Have a great Spring and Summer!

CHANGES

 Hello, Everybody.

I'm thinking of adding another series to my Gulf of Maine Mysteries Series, featuring Officer Lisa Sanders of Fairhaven, Maine. Lisa will still be a main character and still work with Noah and Isaac fighting crime on Deanes Island. However, she will be paired with a new man. Rich has decided to move to Paris, France where he expects to become a great painter. His mother has gone with him, leaving her husband and daughter behind.

Ben, Rich's father, has remained in Fairhaven to run the new Pharmacy and take care of his young daughter. He's in the process of hunting for a caretaker for his daughter and also for  an employee to help in the Pharmacy. Who know, he also may also find a new love.

Keep in touch with my blog and feel free to leave comments about these new developments.

HOLD YOUR FEAR CLOSE bOOK 6 OF Gulf of Maine Mysteries Series

How did you get into law enforcement, Noah?"

"I've wanted to be a policeman for as long as I can remember, Ben. Not so much because I saw a need, but because I was attracted to the uniforms  and flashy cars. I was young when I started thinking about it. I applied for a job with Portland Police before I graduated from High School. They told me to come back when I had my diploma. When I left the building, an officer was waiting outside for me and took me to the local coffee shop and began asking me questions. It wasn't until later that I learned he was one of their recruiters and he was always on the lookout for likely candidates. After speaking with me about my expectations, he gave me his card and told me to call him graduation night and he would teach me the ropes, which he did.

After working in Portland for a few years, I decided I wanted to be back on the Island. I learned the Fairhaven Mayor was was looking for a Chief of Police and I applied. He checked into my background and invited me to his office. After a short conversation with me, he hired me and put me in charge of the Department. Neither one of us has regretted it."

Gulf of Maine Mysteries Series

Book 5 has been published. I'm half-way through Book 6. All of my books in this series about Chief Noah Drinkwater and his family and officers can be ordered on Amazon.com. The stories are full of Murder and Romance. Good and Bad. Love and Hate.

The time is the 1950's. The place is the State of Maine. It's Post WWII and people are trying to get their lives back to normal. New people are moving into Fairhaven, the small town located on Deanes Island somewhere in Casco Bay. Fairhaven is connected to the mainland of Maine by a bridge to Portland, very convenient for the residents, but also very inconvenient when visitors bring their criminal lives with them. Don't worry. Chief Drinkwater and his officers are very active keeping crime under control.  Watch as people lead their lives the best way  they can in spite of the many distractions.

Falling in and out of love never stops and romance is always in the background as residents of Fairhaven do their best to lead normal lives. Wait no longer. Pick up one of my books in ebook or paperback. You won't regret it.

Book 5: YOUNG BEAUTIFUL AND DEAD

There was no warning. No one had reported her  missing.  But there she was. Dead on the ground.   Her classmates just stared, oblivious to everything except her. When the new Principal arrived,  only one spoke, "She's dead. I know she's dead."  Before the year was over,  more dead bodies would appear, as if they were hurrying to audition for a part in the play. The dead bodies kept arriving, but where were the murderers?  Chief Noah Drinkwater and his Fairhaven Police Officers feared the killing would never stop as they rushed from one  tragedy to another, from one murder to another. Yet, in spite of the deaths, in spite of the horror, She was still   YOUNG  BEAUTIFUL  and DEAD.
