I know I live in a hot climate and I chose to live here year round, but this summer has started out hotter and more humid than usual. I'm not quite in the tropics so why does it feel that way?
It hasn't helped that we're babysitting our daughter's dog and I have to walk him 2 or 3 times a day in the heat. He's a cute pug/beagle combination and not too big, but there's no ignoring the fact he has to go out. Otherwise, I spend my time in the house where the A/C is, except once a week when I visit the clubhouse grounds to play Bocce.
Our Bocce court is next to the Clubhouse in the middle of a lawn right in the sun. There's a beautiful, mature live oak next to it but just far enough away to provide no shade. We started playing in May, took a week off in July and went right back to playing. It's hell on the Bocce court; the fires are truly burning. I'll be so glad when the summer season ends on Sept. 2.
We've also been experiencing terrific thunderstorms almost every afternoon. Plus right now several weather events are occurring in the Atlantic and Caribbean causing the weather forecasters to pronounce that every one could become a hurricane. When will it all end?
